Expeditious illustration of layer-cake models on and above a tactile surface

چکیده
Too often illustrating and visualizing 3D geological concepts are performed by sketching in 2D mediums, which may limit drawing performance of initial concepts. Here, the potential of expeditious geological modeling brought by hand gestures is explored. A spatial interaction system was developed to enable rapid modeling, editing, and exploration of 3D layer-cake objects. User interactions are acquired with motion capture and touch screen technologies. Virtual immersion is guaranteed by using stereoscopic technology. The novelty consists of performing expeditious modeling of coarse geological features with only a limited set of hand gestures. Results from usability-studies show that the proposed system is more efficient when compared to a windows-icon-menu-pointer modeling application. & 2016 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Difference between efficiency of ultrasound treatments above and below the membrane surface in membrane clarification of pomegranate juice
Microfiltration can clarify pomegranate juice; however, fouling is a limiting phenomenon in the process. In current work ultrasound was applied above and below the membrane surface to reduce fouling after removing temperature effect. A hydrophilic mixed cellulose ester membrane with pore size of 0.45 μm was used in lab scale flat sheet module. Membrane module was placed above and below the ultr...

متن کاملAn Investigation of Asphaltene Deposition Mechanisms During Natural Depletion Process by a Two Phase Modeling Using Genetic Algorithm Technique
In this work, the natural depletion process in sandstone and carbonate cores was modeled to investigate the asphaltene deposition mechanisms. A new permeability reduction correlation was proposed based on the Minssieux model that considers a combination of surface deposition, pore throat plugging, and filtration cake mechanisms. The results showed that the filtration cake is a dominant asphalte...
متن کاملEquilibrium and kinetic study for the adsorption of p-nitrophenol from wastewater using olive cake based activated carbon
The present work was carried out to evaluate the removal of p-nitrophenol by adsorption onto olive cake based activated carbon having a BET surface area of 672 m²/g. The batch adsorption experimental results indicated that the equilibrium time for nitrophenol adsorption by olive cake-based activated carbon was 120min. The adsorption data was modeled by equilibrium and kinetic models. The pseudo...
متن کاملQuantum chemical studies on adsorption of imidazole derivatives as corrosion inhibitors for mild steel in 3.5 NaCl solution
Adsorption of benzimidazole, 2-methylbenzimidazole and 2-aminobenzimidazole on mild steel in 3.5 NaCl solution was studied using density function theory DFT calculations. In this regard, charge transfer resistance Rct and double layer capacitance Cdl obtained by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy EIS were used to calculate surface coverage and to build prediction models. When prediction mod...
